On July 3, The Crape Myrtle Council, Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce & and Convention and Visitors Bureau, will host Go PINK. Go GREEN., a celebration with crape myrtles in full bloom during the 13th Annual Crape Myrtle Festival and Parade.   

The patriotic celebration will begin on Saturday, July 3 at 10 a.m. with a hometown parade.   The parade will start at College Street and end in Getzendaner Park.  The celebration will continue at 5 p.m. with a Tailgate Party in the parking lot of Lumpkins Stadium.  The top three contestants from “Battle of the Bands” will take the stage at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m.
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and their barbecue grills to cook-out before or during the show.  The tailgate party will also feature a children’s area with a rock climbing wall and bounce house activities. Following the concert will be the spectacular H-E-B fireworks display. 

 

Waxahachie is designated by the State Legislature as the Crape Myrtle Capital of Texas.  A map of the Crape Myrtle Driving Trail is available at the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce or the Heritage Visitor Center located in the Ellis County Museum.
