Vintage Life Magazines Found - This is great news for all you magazine collectors. Several weeks back we discovered a box in a local attic that contained a nice collection of Life Magazines. We lost the old Waxahachie City Jail September 22, 2008 to Progress. The recognized date for the Ellis County jail is 1929. The space where the jail was located will be occupied by a parking garage paid for by the City of Waxahachie and a new county justice center paid for by Ellis County.

2008 Candlelight Christmas Home Tour - Add a little Victorian charm to your holiday season with great shopping, ice skating, festivities and memories to last a lifetime that only Waxahachie can offer. 
The Victorian Christmas Festival is a new event for Christmas but one that I believe is going to grow in popularity. At this time, the downtown is taken back in time, to the Victorian era and Christmas. You will see local citizens stolling around in Victorian cloths, music of that era, and the stores are all decked out in their Christmas finery. 
This is one of Waxahachie's most famous events and its FREE. Funded totally by donations and staffed by local volunteers from the local churches.
