The Cotton Patch - Waxahachie PDF Print E-mail

cotton patchWhen it comes to restaurants, we tend to shy away from franchise-type establishments, preferring the mom and pop style where the food is usually homemade on the spot and has that great homemade taste.  We have to admit, however, the Cotton Patch Cafe has changed our minds. We recently shared a meal at the Cotton Patch on Hwy 77 in Waxahachie, Texas.  We ordered the Wabbit Platter, which comes with either five vegetable sides or three sides and a salad.  Cotton Patch Cafe is THE place for sides.  With a long list of sides like Garlic Mashed Potatoes that taste like your Grandma's, okra fried to perfection, the yummy squash casserole, or the perfectly steamed fresh broccoli, it is hard to make a decision.  Then there is the salad, a generous size, crisped and nicely dressed.

Another of our favorites is the Grilled Pork Chops.  This platter comes with two perfectly grilled pork chops and home-style cinnamon apples as well as a choice of a Loaded Baked Potato, Seasoned Rice, Fresh Broccoli or Steamed Veggies, plus your choice of a House Salad, Caesar Salad or Cup of Soup with freshly baked rolls.  Wow.  What a great meal.  If that seems like too much food, they also offer a Dixie Belle Platter on selected items.  The Dixie Belle has a smaller portion and a smaller price.

Every time we have been to the Cotton Patch, the service has been wonderful.  The servers are very friendly as well as being attentive.  On occasion, we have stopped in to get an order to go.  They offer the full menu and the service is friendly and efficient.  You'll be in and out in no time. The Cotton Patch Cafe is a welcome addition to the dining scene in Waxahachie.  Check them out.  You'll be glad you did.
